Objectives

  1. Learn to elicit the key perceptual elements that make a remembered positive imprint experience into a powerful personal resource in the present.
  2. Practice four ways to discover the relationship between a present problem/complaint and an earlier causative traumatic experience.
  3. Utilize the three fundamental criteria for a powerful positive imprint experience to create a compelling new curative imprint earlier in time than the traumatic one.
  4. Learn to make this curative imprint part of the client's self-concept, and spread this quickly through time, so that it transforms the traumatic memory and generalizes it to other relevant experiences.
  5. Define a positive imprint memory and how a therapist uses it with a client.
  6. Describe how a therapist can reframe an intervention so that a client will take it in.
