I appreciate Dr. Beaulieu’s emphasis on the positive side of anxiety and it’s usefulness in telling us something about our life that we may be otherwise ignoring or not consciously aware of. I’ve certainly educated clients about the survival value and normalcy of anxiety, but Dr. Beaulieu takes it to the next level, and makes it a strength that the client can embrace and work with. I will definitely want to learn more about this–with so many coming into therapy with anxiety as a presenting problem, what an empowering gift to be able to frame it as a strength to build from!
