This workshop will teach a template that focuses how eating disorders function as clients’ unconscious attempts to deal with past trauma and protect themselves from the negative emotions triggered by earlier experiences. We’ll explore how to bring into awareness the protective purpose the eating disorder serves and present strategies for helping the client discover new, more functional, ways to feel safe.
