The stories we tell about ourselves—both as individuals and as couples—give our lives coherence and meaning, but can also be limiting. Instead, discover enriching and strengthening narratives that encourage individual and mutual self-empowerment. This workshop will provide tips for helping couples discover narratives that enrich and strengthen them, and encourage individual and mutual self-empowerment. Acquire new techniques and perspectives that will allow you to:
- Listen with a critical ear, identifying stereotypes, misconceptions, and mistaken assumptions about a couple’s relationship or each other that need to be questioned and rethought
- Practice coaching techniques to challenge limiting stories and help build narratives that highlight resilience and emphasize growth and hope
- Explore strategies that help couples engage with each other as they develop stories that focus on their future together instead of past disappointments
