425 Healing from Betrayal

Steven Stosny • Saturday Morning
LOCATION: SUITE 415E

Steven StosnyIntimate betrayal strikes at our core, violating the fundamental expectation that the person we love won’t hurt us. The challenge for therapists is to balance validating betrayed clients’ pain with empowering them to improve their lives.

This workshop will focus on specific practices to help clients heal through:

  • Developing an inventory of strengths and values that become the core of their vision of who they want to be
  • Practicing self-compassion and understanding that their worth isn’t a reflection of how they’ve been treated
  • Finding alternatives to the negative emotional states that previously dominated their life
  • Making new social connections with the emphasis on not repeating old mistakes with new romantic partners

Steven Stosny, PhD, is the director of Compassion Power. He’s the author of Love without Hurt and the coauthor of How to Improve Your Marriage without Talking about It. His forthcoming book is Living and Loving after Betrayal: How to Heal from Emotional Abuse, Deceit, Infidelity, & Chronic Resentment.
