This workshop will provide a comprehensive overview of sex addiction, its antecedents, and its impact, as well as an integrated treatment model.

You’ll leave with a better understanding of:

  • Process addictions and their connection to a history of unresolved trauma and unconscious shame dynamics
  • The importance of interrupting the behavioral patterns of addiction and tracing its various motivations
  • How to sequence interventions to help clients achieve sexual abstinence

Christine Courtois, PhD, ABPP, is a psychologist in private practice and a national clinical trauma consultant for Elements Behavioral Health, Promises/Malibu. She’s an author and chair of the APA PTSD Guideline Development Panel.

Robert Weiss, LCSW, CSAT-S, founded the Sexual Recovery Institute and is senior VP of clinical development at Elements Behavioral Health. He’s served as a clinical educator to NIH and the US military and is the author of multiple books, including Untangling the Web.
