This Workshop Has Been Cancelled
Margaret Wehrenberg • Thursday All Day
Women experiencing anxiety in midlife often are responding to any number of new life-stage stresses and challenges. This workshop will focus on pragmatic tools for helping them cope with transitions such as starting/blending families; juggling career and family; bridging the transition between marriage and divorce; managing life as a single parent; being “sandwiched” between aging parents and young children; and coming to grips with getting older. We’ll look at the neurobiology of anxiety and examine the impact of too much activity and too little time on lives that may already feel overloaded. You’ll practice specific cognitive strategies for helping clients tend, befriend, and manage their anxiety. We’ll discuss how to use a “Life Balance Wheel” to help clients identify out-of-balance areas in their lives and what specific steps they can take, like learning to strive for perfection less or paying attention to priorities, to restore balance.
Margaret Wehrenberg, Psy.D., specializes in anxiety treatment, using a holistic approach for symptom management. She’s the author of the 10 Best-Ever Depression Management Techniques and The 10 Best-Ever Anxiety Management Techniques.
