Marsha Linehan, Ph.D. Marsha Linehan, Ph.D., is the originator of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Director of the Behavioral Research and Therapy Clinics. She is Professor of Psychology and Adjunct Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Washington. She has won several distinguishing awards including the Louis I. Dublin Lifetime Achievement Award in the Field of Suicide.
