Daily Activities
For a detailed listing of daily activities at Symposium, please visit the At-A-Glance page, refer to your Onsite Guide, or ask a Symposium Volunteer.

Stay Connected!
There will be Free Wireless Internet in the hotel lobby and in the Internet Cafe in the Exhibit Hall. Please join us on Facebook and Twitter for updates, videos, photos and more.

CDs and DVDs
CDs of most workshops will be available for sale onsite at the Symposium. Recording and mail orders will be handled by Playback Now, 3139 Campus Drive, Suite 700, Norcross, GA 30071, 1-800-241-7785, www.playbacknetworker.com. Personal recording devices aren’t permitted in any sessions.

Changing Workshops
For attendees who want to change workshops during the Symposium, there’ll be four to six open workshops, held in large ballrooms, during each time block. To avoid disruptions and overcrowded rooms, all other workshops will be closed to anyone who hasn’t been assigned to them in advance. The list of open workshops will be printed in the Symposium Onsite Guide, which you’ll receive at the hotel.

Exhibit Hall
The Symposium Exhibit Hall will feature dozens of publications, therapy products, and other vital resources and services for practitioners, as well as hard-to-find back issues of the Networker magazine. Hours: Opening Reception, Thursday, 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.; Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; and Saturday, 7:45 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Hotel Accommodations
The Room Block at the Omni Shoreham Hotel is filled. However, there are rooms available at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, located across the street from the Omni Shoreham at 2660 Woodley Road, NW, Washington, DC 20008. You can make reservations for the Marriott by clicking here or by phone (202) 328-2000 or 1-800-228-9290.

Lunches
It’s expected that the volume of Symposium attendees will put a strain on nearby eating facilities and make it difficult to have a quick meal. There will be seated luncheons with speakers on Friday and Saturday. Reserve lunch on the online registration form. You may not order these lunches onsite during the Symposium. On Thursday and Sunday, box lunches can be purchased in the hotel’s lobby or snack shop.

Room Sharing
If you wish to share a hotel room and don’t already have a roommate, check with the Registration Desk.

Tax Deduction
Registration fees, transportation, lodging, and meals are tax deductible as educational expenses when attending continuing education seminars. Deductibility varies depending on whether you’re employed by others or self-employed. It’s recommended that you consult your tax advisor with any questions.

What to Wear for the Symposium
The DC forecast is calling for unusually warm temperatures--70s during the day, 50s at night--and rain. We can guarantee that the temperature in the hotel conference rooms will fluctuate dramatically from hot to cold. We strongly suggest that you dress in layers, so that you can adjust your apparel to the temperature of the particular conference room you’re in. If you plan to participate in a Creativity Day workshop on Thursday or an Evolving Therapist workshop on Sunday, dress in loose, comfortable clothing.

Additional Information
If you have any further questions regarding the Symposium, please contact check at the Reservation Desk or ask a Symposium Volunteer.

As our work as professional therapists has taught us, change and growth don’t come overnight. But we can use the growing science of expertise to move to the next level of our clinical leadership and proficiency. We’ll use discussion and group exercises as we explore the research-based principles for growth developed by consultant Jim Collins
