Where is Therapy Going After DSM-5?

David Mays on the Integration of Biology and Psychology

By the time we’ve exhausted all the debates to be had over DSM-5, it’ll be time for DSM-6. So rather than continuing to lament the deficiencies of our current diagnostic system, let’s focus on what’s ahead for the world of psychotherapy.

That’s the position forensic psychiatrist David Mays is taking, anyhow.

Many mental health professionals make the mistake of thinking that the biological sciences aren’t relevant to their work, but David explains why he sees a lot of integration between biology and psychology in the near future.
