In this workshop, you’ll learn how to add the skills of life coaching to your clinical repertoire, with a focus on helping clients acquire a different mindset about themselves and the future, and develop a plan that will put them back on the road to upward mobility. We’ll discuss how to help clients do a quick self-assessment--professional and financial goals, resources, personal assets--develop a roadmap to recovery (including obstacles, like mental road blocks), and create a 10-point “life-planning instrument,” covering employment, finances, education, skill sets, personality/mindset, and personal resources (like physical health). We’ll focus particularly on helping clients develop a “mental blueprint” for success, which requires them to identify and clarify (often for the first time in their lives) what they really want.
