But how do you acquire the confidence, direction, and skills to make your dream a reality? In this workshop, we’ll explore how to develop your writer’s voice, uncover the “theme” of your life, turn clinical vignettes into powerful stories, address writer’s block, procrastination, and fear, and understand the marketplace for books, magazines, and online content. We’ll focus on the three “golden rules”: you already possess everything you need to be the writer you want to be; make use of the material you have--work with what you know; and carve out the time to commit to writing, because writing begets writing. We’ll discuss how to pitch stories, write proposals, and find your niche, so you’ll have everything you need to get started on your writing projects after the workshop.
